In some cases, the optimal venue for training such students is within the collaborators' laboratory. Students in graduate fields/programs that offer courses at a Cornell campus other than their home campus also need to spend time at the other campus. To accommodate this need, the Cornell University Graduate Student Linkage (CUGL) Program has been established. Guidelines are available on the Graduate Linkage Program Web site.
Ithaca Weill Research Collaboration Graduate Student Transit Fund The Provost's office will provide funding for faculty whose graduate students travel to and from Ithaca and Weill Cornell Medical College on the Campus to Campus bus for collaborative research and grant activities.
To receive funding, sponsoring Ithaca faculty should send a brief description of the Ithaca/Weill research project to the Vice Provost for Life Sciences' office to the attention of Lindsay Welch, lew7@cornell.edu, in advance of any student travel. Reimbursement to department accounts will be made before the end of the fiscal year based on a summary of the graduate student trips made on the Campus to Campus bus.
Please be aware that the transportation fund is only for students participating in approved collaborative faculty projects between Ithaca and Weill; it is not available to students conducting independent research or wishing to travel to NYC for other reasons. |
