The graduate program in biometry deals with the development and application of statistical and mathematical methods in biology. Research may involve purely theoretical work, computer simulation studies, innovative statistical analyses of real data, or a combination of these activities.
In addition to examinations required by the Graduate School, the field requires that a qualifying examination be taken after the second semester of residence.
Application:
An applicant's transcript should show strength in the biological and mathematical sciences. Otherwise, the applicant should present evidence of equivalent experience. Applicants must submit two letters of recommendation, GRE general test scores, and are advised to submit scores on the GRE subject test in mathematics.
