Headlines Student NewsWorkshop: Communicating Science -- Tools for Scientists and Engineers
The National Science Foundation and the American Association for the Advancement of Science are sponsoring a workshop entitled "Communicating Science: Tools for Scientists and Engineers" from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Nov. 5 at the Statler Hotel aimed at helping faculty scientists, engineers and Ph.D. students learn more about communicating science to news media and the general public, as well as the broader impacts requirement for NSF-funded research.
The AAAS Center for Public Engagement with Science and Technology has partnered with NSF to provide resources for scientists and engineers, both online and through in-person workshops to help them communicate more broadly with the public. The Web site can be found at www.aaas.org/communicatingscience.
The workshop will include a joint session with communication officers from academic institutions, who will be meeting separately for most of the day. The workshop includes a continental breakfast and lunch. There is no registration fee to attend the workshop; however, space is limited and pre-registration is required. Please send an e-mail to OLPA-workshops@nsf.gov to request a registration form.
